Ok I’m really excited for this new little series I called “one month without”! I just thought of it and I’m extremely excited for the first challenge, but more on that later…
What is One month without about?
Well, we all experienced how hard it is to quit something, wether it’s smoking, sugar, fast food, shopping or basically anything. The reasons behind it are as different as the things we want to quit. Maybe you want to save money for your next trip, maybe you want to become healthier or fitter, or maybe, like me you like a little challenge. Science says it takes 21 days to change a habit. And from my experience I can say that I’m much more likely to stay with a decision when I can whisper “just two more weeks” in the back of my mind while I stare longingly at that piece of cake. Let’s start the self experiment!
Sugar the devil!
So in September I want to challenge me to live one month without sugar. And because I can already hear you gasp and reach for your bananas, calm down I’m only talking about processed sugar. So white, brown, syrups, everything like that. Of course I’ll still eat fruit and vegetables (seriously, I’m a vegan, that’s basically all I eat)
Why sugar? Well I know it’s not good for me, and there were times when I ate better and felt better. This is an attempt to eat better, more whole foods, less processed. But still with the ability to meet my friends for lunch.
The next months without
I already have some ideas lined up for the upcoming months, but I won’t say much now. Only this: it’s not going to be food related only! If you have any ideas or suggestions on what I should live without in the future, I’m happy to hear about it in the comments below!
I’m looking forward to share my one month without sugar journey with you. I’ll update you more regularly on Instagram, so check that out and follow along under the hashtag #conniexonemonthwithout! And if you’re up for the challenge, please write me, it would be nice to have someone to send cake pictures to and cry internally.
