Podcast: Talking in Circles, Laura Miller

Every now and then someone shows me a tiny thing that changes my life forever. A couple of months ago I found out about Talking in Circles, a Youtube series, where Laura Miller talks to people about anxiety, depression and Introvert/Extrovert issues.

In my bad anxiety periods in the past weeks I rewatched every video several times and it helped me in a way that in these days only the internet can: It showed me that I’m not the only one feeling this. That it’s in a way normal to have these episodes. It also showed me how I can help others understand what I’m experiencing. Because it’s hard to explain and even harder to understand when you’ve never been through it yourself.

Why can only the internet help? Because I (and a lot of others, I’ve heard) lock myself in my room, not being able to face humans in any form. And yes, sometimes that includes getting groceries shipped to my doorstep, too.

What started as a Youtube series (that you can watch here) now became a Podcast.

And what I really really love is that Laura and her guests talk ¬†about their own perception. What works for them and how they feel. It’s not the same old self help book, but real people having real experiences with real panic attacks. Also, Laura is an introvert, you can hear she’s insecure and nervous, but she does it anyway. And for me that’s refreshing! Between all the successful public personalities who seem t have it all together, it’s nice to see someone struggling but still doing it. And that gives me more strength than all the others.
